The IDEA
Being half Palestinian I felt it was important to give a voice to the “silenced majority” which is why I decided to use the pre existing documentary as the narrative for my video. Occupation 101 discusses the events from the rise of Zionism to the Second Intifada, alongside interviews with American scholars, religious leaders and humanitarian workers.
The NARRATIVE
Noting down key facts and quotations from the 'Occupation 101' provided me with the content necessary to write my transcript. Although this was published in 2006 the circumstances and conditions within the West Bank and Gaza remain the same over ten years later, making it the perfect basis for my motion graphic.
I wanted an Arabic narrator to add a level of authenticity to my motion piece so for the final video I used my dad as my voice over.
